A Louisiana Tradition

It’s not often we make it down to the deep south, but recently we found ourselves attending the Louisiana Sportsman’s Show in Baton Rouge.  Aside from meeting the great people of Louisiana and showcasing our line of hunting optics, we had an agenda – a culinary agenda.  As if the myriad of southern-style food options wasn’t enough, we decided to seize an opportunity to attend a crawfish boil with our friends from Backroads Apparel and Swamp Assassin.  We knew we were in for a treat when an unspecified amount of garlic, artichokes, lemon, kielbasa, sweet potato, red potato, cauliflower, a mysterious red powder, salt, and (lots and lots) of fresh mudbugs went into a trailer-sized vat of boiling water.

What could be better than cheap beer, good company, and a seemingly unlimited amount of gastronomic genius?  At least for the moment, nothing…
